James Arthur Rodriguez

James is a Port Angeles attorney practicing primarily in family law and probate. He graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, receiving the school’s Pro Bono Service Award and the Patricia Scott Award as the school’s outstanding oral advocate for his graduating year of 2007-2008. He was licensed to practice law in Texas in 2008. 

James went into private practice immediately and was awarded the prestigious “Outstanding Young Lawyer” award by the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association in 2013. He also served as the presiding judge of the Municipal Court of the City of Von Ormy (Texas) for seven years before deciding that the mountains were calling. He moved to Port Angeles in 2017 and was licensed to practice law in Washington at that time.

He continues to make community service a regular part of his practice, volunteering with the Clallam-Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers and the Senior Legal Advice Clinics. James and his wife, Charlotte, have two crazy huskies, Cosmo and Laika, and are enjoying their new life exploring the Olympic Peninsula.
